Our average nonprofit website redesign project averages $50,000-$100,000 based on the size and complexity of the site. This is inclusive of a two-day strategy workshop, full UI/UX design, custom theme development, content writing, and on-site SEO. For a more accurate estimate, be sure to check out our project calculator.

If you're not looking to redesign your entire nonprofit website and would rather work on your existing website, we offer Grow packages starting at $5,000/month. Grow is an ongoing engagement focusing on conversion rate optimization. Learn more on our conversion rate optimization page.

Everyone has different business goals. Here's how we typically decide what service our clients are a better fit for:

Build engagements are best for nonprofit website design projects undergoing a major rebranding, looking to migrate from a different content management system (CMS) or have larger, structural issues with an ecommerce site.

Grow engagements are best for nonprofit organizations that have a successful web presence they’re comfortable with and are looking to increase conversions, user engagement, sales, and improve their overall online presence.

Our nonprofit website design company has designed a 6-month roadmap to study your website traffic, observe issues/opportunities with user experience, identify quick wins, and systematically execute and measure improvements to the site.

This roadmap will help ensure your nonprofit website is optimized for maximum impact and ROI.

Month 1 - CRO Audit

Through a mix of user testing, qualitative research, and data analysis, we'll perform a conversion rate optimization audit of your current nonprofit website design. We'll focus on mobile, desktop, and performance opportunities. Some of the key things we'll identify are:

  • Priority levels
  • Problems/opportunities
  • Potential solutions
  • Issue types (design, technical, conversion, internal)
  • Bucket (quick win, test, other)

Month 2 - Roadmap + Quick Wins

Our teams will collaborate by taking our findings and creating a 6 month Grow roadmap. From this, you'll have a clear understanding of where we're going to have the biggest impact. This month we'll also focus on executing the quick wins adjustments.

Months 3 - 6 - Improvements, Testing, and Reporting

Our dedicated team of experts will systematically perform conversion tests and make impactful website design improvements that result in higher conversions and increased revenue. Walking you through the how, why, and impact, every step of the way.

Timeline & Budget

Our Build engagements typically last 4-6 months and cost $50,000-$100,000 USD.

Project Kick-off

We start with an in-person or virtual project kick-off that often takes place over the course of 1-2 days. In this kick-off, our team will perform a series of exercises to better understand your brand, your target audiences, current challenges with your nonprofit website project, and goals for future growth. Following best nonprofit modern design practices we'll also dig into things like website structure, web accessibility, marketing automation, search results strategies, and responsive design.

Strategy & Design

We'll then create a series of documents such as a key takeaways document, user personas, user flow charts, initial website wireframes, color palette and color scheme, and mood boards.

Based on our research and observed user behavior we'll iterate with your team in a collaborative fashion to create a nonprofit website design that you and your customers will love.

Development & QA

After we've both arrived at a point with the visual design where we're completely satisfied we'll transition over to development. Our nonprofit web developer team creates comprehensive visual guidelines for our development team to execute.

Our approach to QA has five layers:

  • A round of technical QA performed by your web developer.
  • A round of visual QA performed by your UI/UX designer
  • A round of functional QA performed by a quality analyst
  • A round of holistic QA performed by our broader team
  • A round of holistic QA performed by your team

This multi-layered approach ensures our custom websites launch and perform flawlessly day one.

If you're looking to create a website for your nonprofit organization, there are a few things you'll need to keep in mind. First, it's important to find design inspiration that aligns with your organization's mission and values. Once you have a general direction for your site's design process, you'll need to start planning out the primary navigation of your website. This is one of the most important elements of any website, as it allows potential donors to easily find the information they're looking for.

Once you have a basic design in mind, it's time to add content. Be sure to include information about your organization's mission, programs, and impact. And don't forget to list all of your contact information so that people can easily get in touch with you. Finally, be sure to add donation buttons on your website so that your website visitors can easily support your community foundation work.

A well-designed not for profit website should be easy to navigate and provide a positive user experience. The design choices should be appropriate for the target audience and the overall brand identity of the website should be respectful and professional. The website should also be optimized for search engine ranking and mobile compatibility. In addition, the website should clearly state the organization's mission and goals, and provide information on how visitors can get involved with online donations. It can also have a calendar for upcoming events and an events registration and payment feature. Consider also an interactive map showing the impacts your organization is having in the world.

Here are some examples of effective and engaging nonprofit websites:

A nonprofit website is a website that is owned and operated by an organization dedicated to a particular cause or causes, and which does not operate to make a profit for its stakeholders. Nonprofit websites are typically designed to create digital experiences that raise awareness about the organization's mission, attract visitors' attention, and generate donations. In addition to these core functions, nonprofit websites can also serve as powerful fundraising tools for promoting volunteerism and fostering community engagement.

Wix is a popular website builder that offers a range of features and templates to choose from. It is user-friendly and relatively easy to use, even for those with limited experience in nonprofit website design.

One of the main advantages of Wix is that it allows nonprofits to create bright, engaging websites that are consistently branded and easy to navigate. Additionally, Wix offers a wide range of website tools that can be used to create custom pages, add multimedia content, and track website traffic. Overall, Wix is a good option for nonprofits looking to create a professional website on a budget.

For more mature non-profits, we don’t recommend Wix, as its features can be limiting. WordPress is much more flexible and suitable for a nonprofit with more resources. It’s easy to find a good WordPress theme that matches your nonprofit's brand. Or, we can create your site for you with our custom Space Station theme for WordPress. It will be really convenient for you to update on a regular basis.

Yes, we can migrate your nonprofit website to a new platform.

Our website design company helps nonprofit organizations migrate between different CMS’s quite frequently.

Our experts will handle the data migration of posts, custom post types, taxonomies, users, as well as third-party integrations with your CRM, ATS, IMS, and other order management systems.

If you're just launching your nonprofit website, we can share design resources for additional nonprofit website design inspiration, we can assist with your website setup, website maintenance, and consult on website design best practices.

In addition to nonprofit web design, we predominantly design websites for SaaS companies, industry manufacturers, professional services, real estate, B2B, and technology companies—but have experience across a number of other categories as well.
