special olympics Huemor rundead intern project

This summer, our interns were given a special project to work on: together, they’re assembling a new Special Olympics “rUndead” website! For those of you that don’t know, the rUNDEAD event is a 5k trail run to benefit the Special Olympics New York. Be careful though, “zombies” are out on the trail too! When you sign up for the run, you can do so as a runner or as a zombie (make-up and all!) to try and catch the runners. Huemor actually participated in the run last year; it’s certainly a lot of fun!

The rUNDEAD is a growing and family-friendly event that just about anyone can participate in. If you’re concerned about competing, there are both competitive and noncompetitive runs. Or, if the idea of running is even scarier than the zombies, then there’s going to be a festival after the run itself! This is the 4th annual rUNDEAD on Long Island, and it’s shaping up to be the best one yet!

Building for the Future

Anyway, as awesome as this run is, it remains one of the smaller fundraisers for the Special Olympics. We want the changes we make to reflect how great it is and help it grow! Our interns are working directly with Rebecca Strickland, the lead coordinator of the rUNDEAD event. Here’s what she had to say about rUNDEAD and her experience working with Huemor so far:

“Partnering with Huemor Designs last year was a great foundation. This year, they’ve chosen to exceed all expectations of how local businesses can help local charities. I am so excited and thankful for the hard work and dedication they are providing for our fundraiser event this year!”

We’re collaborating with Rebecca to achieve the best possible results for such a deserving cause. Huemor is happy to contribute, and we’re hoping the best for this project as it moves forward!
