Who's Hue

Happy Workiversary to James & Leah!

Congratulations to James and Leah, as they celebrate their one-year mark at HUEMOR. We would like to thank these two key players for the hard work and dedication that is clearly shown by the progress they’re continuously making. James is our talented UI/UX designer, always putting the users’ experience first and foremost. Leah is our skilled developer, solving problems with code day after day. With the two of them on our team, we’re that much closer to #WrldTkOvr!

We asked them to share a little bit about their time here:

James' 1 year workiversary

James, UI/UX Designer

What do you love most about working for HUEMOR?

“I love the environment and the people. Very fun and exciting place where something interesting is happening everywhere you look; things like this helps spark creativity and make my job easy to do.”

What has been your most accomplishing task?

It might not be the most flashy, but I have learned a lot of techniques in the research phase that makes designing sites much easier. From understanding who accesses your sites and how they navigate through it; this research helps you lay the foundation and establish the proper visual hierarchy.”

What kind of inspiration do you look for when beginning a new project?

“I tend to peak at other sites around the web and on Dribbble or Behance. If I still struggle with thinking of something, I either scooter around the office or go outside for a few minutes. When I sit back down I typically have a solve for my design-block.”

How have your co-workers affected/changed you within the year?

“I can’t say my designs would be as good if they were not here. Collaboration is key. Having different perspectives look at your website helps you see things you might have overlooked. They really help elevate the designs and push me to create new things.”

What is the most valuable thing you have learned in your year here?

“The ability to look at a project and truly understand the end-users needs and desires. I feel very comfortable putting myself in their shoes and devising a flow on how they will navigate through the site. This helps create a unique user experience for every site.”

What has been the most exciting event during your time here?

“I think the most exciting event was launching the first site I designed. It will always be my first with HUEMOR so I won’t ever forget it.”

Leah's 1 year workiversary

Leah, Developer

What do you love most about working for HUEMOR?

“I love working with fun people that encourage you to think outside the box and help you solve a problem. I never feel like I’m coming to “work.” It’s also awesome that I love what I do.”

What has been your most accomplishing task?

“I have gotten so much better at coding. I definitely feel more confident than when I started when it comes to making harder websites.”

What kind of inspiration do you look for when beginning a new project?

“The inspiration I look for is how to think more “outside the box” when making new things, and how to be more creative and exciting if I have more creative freedom. I also like to look at other websites and see how they have done things their way. I learn new ways of doing things that I didn’t even think about.”

How have your co-workers affected/changed you within the year?

“They have made me more confident in myself in more ways than one. They have shown me that I know more than I give myself credit for and that you should always be yourself no matter what. As Amie says, “you do you.””

What is the most valuable thing you have learned in your year here?

Having to learn new things and implement them can be scary, but can also be really fun and rewarding. I have learned so many new things over the course of a year and I have had a blast and feel more confident in my work.”

What has been the most exciting event during your time here?

The most exciting event would probably be when the first website I made on my own launched, which is Territory. That was awesome!”
